1. Introduction

UniLLM ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and API services (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this policy carefully.

UniLLM is operated by ChrisJ, an independent developer based in Hong Kong. UniLLM is the data controller for the personal data collected through the Service.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account Information: When you register, we collect your username, email address, and password (stored in hashed form).
  • API Usage Data: We log API requests for billing and analytics purposes, including model used, token counts, timestamps, and response status codes. We do not store the content of your prompts or model responses.
  • Communication Data: When you contact us via email, we collect the content of your messages and your email address.

API Input and Output Data

When you use our API, you send prompts (input) and receive model-generated responses (output). We handle this data as follows:

  • No Training Use: We do not use your prompts or completions to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI models.
  • Model Processing: Your input data is processed through our infrastructure and selected providers. Your data is sent to the relevant provider for inference processing only.
  • No Content Storage: We do not store the content of your prompts or model responses. We only log metadata such as model name, token counts, timestamps, and response status codes for billing and analytics purposes.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Log Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited, and timestamps.
  • Device Information: Device type, screen resolution, and language preferences.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Process transactions and manage your account credits
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing receipts, API key notifications)
  • Monitor usage patterns to prevent abuse and ensure service quality
  • Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
  • Comply with legal obligations

We process your personal data on the following lawful bases: performance of a contract (account services, API access, billing), legitimate interests (service improvement, security, abuse prevention), and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Payment Processing

We use a third-party payment processor as our Merchant of Record. When you make a purchase, our payment processor collects certain personal and payment information. Their use of your personal information is governed by their respective privacy policy.

We do not directly collect, store, or process your credit card numbers or bank account details. All payment information is handled securely by our payment processor. We only receive confirmation of successful transactions and relevant order details needed for credit allocation.

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

  • Payment Processor: Our Merchant of Record processes your payments securely.
  • AI Model Providers: Your API request data is sent to inference providers for processing. We select providers that do not use your data for model training.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and authentication state. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies. Essential cookies are strictly necessary for the Service to function and cannot be disabled.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions with similar data protection laws, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of Access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Rectification: You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Right to Erasure: You have the right to request that we delete your personal data, subject to certain legal exceptions.
  • Right to Data Portability: You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
  • Right to Object: You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data for certain purposes, including direct marketing.

Your data may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions outside of your country of residence, including Hong Kong and the regions where our infrastructure and AI model providers operate. We take reasonable steps to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@unillm.ccwu.cc. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL), hashed password storage, and access controls for our systems. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

9. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. API usage logs are retained for billing and analytics purposes. If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
